Throw Across America

On a grand level, this baseball throwing relay has players consecutively throwing a baseball to each other in a chain, eventually crossing the country. Assuming the average player throws 100 feet and gets one throw, it takes 170,000 throwers to throw across America. Organizing such an event across many states is quite a challenge. With Charity Hop obtaining permits from towns, coordinating the route and insurance needs, recruiting participants and overseeing the fundraising details, it is within reach.

On a local level, this same concept can be applied to a little league throwing across a town, county or even a state! Throw Across Wherever can be designed for your organization while raising tens of thousands of dollars for your group and/or charity. And you can pull it off with as few as 50-100 to as many as several hundred participants. We'll do the legwork getting the participants and setting up your donation collection method -- which we can even do online. Let us show you how.

In 2007, Wakefield, Massachusetts participated in Throw Across Wakefield to support Babe Ruth Baseball. The 4-mile route initiated at Wakefield High School with throwing designed to continue around Breakheart Reservation. Tim Wakefield of the Boston Red Sox agreed to award the top fundraisers with a check presentation on the field at Fenway Park before a game.
