About Charity Hop
In baseball lingo, a “charity hop” is an easily fielded ground ball. When it comes to developing branding or deploying marketing initiatives for your sports business or athlete, we make it easy to field.
Charity Hop was founded with a mission to creatively connect athletes and entertainers, sports organizations, brands, sponsors and charities while helping to optimize their marketing goals by deploying high-end creative solutions.
While our success stories stretch far beyond philanthropy, our collective projects have raised more than $1.7 million for charity on behalf of our clients since 2004.
Fielding Ideas. Finding Solutions.
Charity Hop was born out of friendship and first hand experiences. Co-Founders Brett Rudy and Mike Lembo were introduced while playing together on a baseball team in 2002. Realizing their similar backgrounds and overlapping interests, the two struck a friendship and began running events and initiatives surrounding their local baseball community.
In 2004, when Curt Schilling joined Red Sox Nation, the two spearheaded a groundbreaking fundraising initiative for his Curt’s Pitch for ALS program that helped jumpstart the organization in Boston and beyond.
After this initial success, the duo realized they were on to something special. In 2006, Charity Hop was officially born with a desire and passion to help fill the need for today’s athletes, agencies, corporations, and charities to streamline how they reach their specific goals.
Combining Brett’s years of experience in the marketing agency and corporate world with Mike’s non-profit background, Charity Hop has been able to see both sides of the equation and help our clients get from where they are today from a marketing standpoint, to where they need to be.
